The National Seamanship Training Centre of the Nautical Training Corps is a purpose-built sailing school situated on the eastern side of Portsmouth Harbour. Its high quality facilities make it an ideal venue for the training of members of the Corps and other activity-based youth organisations.

The Centre is ideally situated for sheltered harbour sailing, kayaking and longer voyages on the Solent. Regular courses are available in all aspects of sail training and are run by a team of qualified staff.

NSTC Lion is a recognised Royal Yachting Association Training Centre and organises nationally- and internationally-accredited dinghy and powerboat courses. Visit the RYA Website for more information.

Equipment includes:
3 x Wayfarer dinghies.
1 x Sport 14 asymmetric dinghy.
6 x Laser Picos and a standard Laser with full and radial rigs.
1 x Europe
12 x kayaks.
2 x 3.6m Jeanneau Rigiflex Dory powerboats.
1 x 3m and 1 x 5.4m rigid inflatable boat.
Various other staff-owned vessels that may be used by the experienced and competent sailor; these include a Dart 18, RS Vareo and a Topaz Trio.

Accommodation for up to 20 people on a self-catering basis with meeting and presentation facilities.

The above rates are for standard sailing or kayaking with the power boats being used as safety boats only. Because of the additional fuel costs, rates for power boating are available on request.

If you wish to use the Centre for accommodation only, the rates drop one scale for the same time period; i.e. (for Corps/FINTO) 24 hour rate: £120.00, weekend rate: £170.00 etc.
